Standing up for Wildlife
Durham Wildlife Trust campaigns hard to protect the regions wildlife:
We manage a variety of species and habitat protection projects. Working with the public, policy makers and planners, the Trust’s aim is to develop a multi-agency approach to nature conservation.
A range of public participation surveys enable the Trust to collect and analyse important data about County Durham’s wildlife. This information is used to inform future conservation activities.
We work hard to raise awareness of the variety of wildlife in rural and urban areas.
Durham Wildlife Trust will speak out on appropriate local issues as one voice on behalf of all our members.
We advise on planning and will help fight insensitive developments
We actively support farmers and landowners in managing their land in ways sympathetic to wildlife.
