Durham Wildlife Trust provides an exciting programme of safe, hands on activities designed to bring learning to life outside the classroom.
The main education centre is at Rainton Meadows, which caters for all age groups and is handily located within a 30 minute journey of Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Durham. Low Barns near Bishop Auckland is ideal for smaller groups and offers the opportunity to explore the various habitats within the reserve, whilst Hylton Dene and Castle in Sunderland provide a fantastic opportunity for local schools and community groups to discover the wildlife and history that lies at the heart of their city.
Durham wildlife Trust also provides outreach sessions tailored to suit the site and age group of your choice.
