Once a common animal of our streams and wetlands the water vole has suffered a dramatic 90% decline in recent years. Lost from the wider countryside the water vole has found its last refuge in the streams and ponds in the urban east of the county.

The Water Vole Recovery Project aims to reverse the decline in water vole numbers and increase the amount of wetland available to water voles. To be successful the project needs the help of all of those human neighbours who live and work beside the water voles.
